The online form serves as the main planning document for Healy science cruises and facilitates the dialog process between the Scientists and the USCG. Information submitted by the Chief Scientist is forwarded to the Healy Officers, Marine Science personnel and shoreside support groups.

The Unique Key, which is provided only to the Chief Scientist when the form is initially started, allows access to the form for making edits and additions. When the form is submitted (by clicking the "Submit" button), the form is published on the web and a notice is emailed. Early and often submissions of the questionnaire are encouraged so that everyone is aware of the developing plans.
