Healy - Seabeam 2112 Echo Sounder

USCGC Healy has a SB2112 a 12 KHz multibeam swath mapping echo sounder. The displays for the system are in the Electronics/Computer Lab. The primary attitude (heave, pitch and roll) sensor is an Applanix POS/MV-320 with a Seatex MRU-6 as backup. Primary heading is from the POS/MV with backup from a Sperry Mk5 Gyrocompass by way of the integrated bridge system. Primary position is taken from a manufactured string that is built from POS/MV data by the science navigation computer. Backup navigation is from the Integrated Bridge System . Sound speed at the keel is calculated from sea water temperature and conductivity measured by the installed SeaBird Thermosaliniograph or may be manually entered. Sound speed profiles are developed from XBT, CTD, and historical data.
