Healy has a two chirp sub-bottom transceiver systems and one 3.5 kHz sub-bottom transducer array. The array consists of sixteen TR-109 elements configured in a four by four array mounted in a transducer well inside the ship. The bottom of the well is protected from the sea ice by a thick polyurethane window. The two sub-bottom transceivers are Knudsen 320BR. A manual switch selects which transceiver is connected to the array. Only one transceiver may be used at a time.
